Free school supplies for all Dallas ISD students who attend mayor's fair

The offer is a departure from previous years, when only students who could prove they met federal poverty guidelines were eligible for free school supplies at the fair.

DALLAS – Every Dallas ISD student, regardless of economic status, is eligible for free school supplies this year, as long as they attend the mayor’s Back to School Fair.

The offer is a departure from previous years, when only students who could prove they met federal poverty guidelines were eligible for free school supplies at the fair.

Online registration for Mayor Mike Rawlings’ Aug. 3 Back to School Fair goes through June 30. Families can also attend one of 19 in-person pre-registration events in July.

The only condition for receiving free school supplies at this year’s fair is that a student must show proof of having a student ID number from a Dallas ISD school.

Student ID numbers can be found on any of the following documents:

• Most recent student report card
• Letter from student’s school stating the student attends a Dallas ISD school
• Student ID card
• Printout from the online Parent Portal that shows student’s ID number
• Documentation provided above may be a printed copy, an electronic copy or photo shown from a phone.

DISD students will also have the opportunity to receive free immunizations, health, dental and vision screenings, haircuts, and more at this year’s fair.
