GARLAND, Texas — Eighteen homes were evacuated this morning after a smell of gas was detected Friday morning in the 700 block of Eastern Star Drive in Garland.
The Garland Fire Department reported on their Twitter account that 30 residents were displaced as they investigate the odor, which was reporte at about 9:50 a.m. As of 10:30 a.m., the source of the smell hadn't been determined.
Garland Christrian Academy moved about 300 people, including staff and students, from their main building to another but were given the all clear to return just before 11:30 a.m.
