GARLAND, Texas — Three young children were taken to the hospital in critical condition after they were found inside of a car that was on fire in Garland on Saturday evening, officials said.
Police said the children's father had left them in the unattended in the car while he went inside a store. No charges had been filed as of Saturday night, and police were still investigating.
The fire happened in the parking lot of a shopping center near South 1st Street and Kingsley Road.
A 2-year-old was flown to a hospital by helicopter, while the other two were taken by ambulance. All three children were 2-4 years old, according to Fire Department officials.
