CARROLLTON, Texas — Coco-nuts rejoice! Fans of the palm tree fruit have a place that now caters to their palette: Coconut Paradise in Carrollton.
Opened on Easter inside 99 Ranch Market, Coconut Paradise has gained a quick cult following.
”This is much bigger than I expected,” said Hanyue Jiang.
Jiang and his wife, Liping Wang, are the owners. Coconut Paradise was Wang’s dream, so Jiang quit his job as an engineer to help get the store up and running.
Coconut Paradise serves sweet treats made with coconut, of course. The most popular treat is coconut jelly.
Jiang describes it as a kind of coconut pudding made with coconut water, coconut cream, whipping cream and then topped with whatever you’d like. Mango is their top seller.
“It’s melt in your mouth and it’s something you have never tried before,” Jiang said.
In addition to coconut pudding, there’s also coconut water, teas and other treats. Best of all, Jiang says, it’s healthy.
“Low calories, less sugar and also delicious,” he said.
So, instead of feeling guilty, guests will feel like they’re in paradise.
